Responsibilities at Svitlo: 

• Student Buddy: explain how Svitlo operates, and answer any questions the students might have.
• Media Literacy Teaching Assistant: Assist instructor MJ Krogman by curating relevant media content, sharing resources with the class, and facilitating engaging discussions to improve critical thinking.
• House System Manager: I meet new students to the school and assign them to Houses.
• Hibernia House Captain: Act as the primary representative and leader for the House, managing internal communications, organizing bi-weekly interactive quizzes, and overseeing the House point reward system.
• Reading Buddy (English Literacy): Conduct weekly English reading sessions for younger students, focusing on improving pronunciation, expanding vocabulary, and analyzing literature together.
• Pearson Online Academy Mentor: As a graduate of Pearson Online Academy I am mentoring new Svitlo students who got the scholarships from the school. I have to help the student whenever they have any questions and observe their progress during an academic year.
• Business Case Competition Participant (Deloitte Digital & UCL): I participated in a competition from Deloitte Digital and UCL, where my team created a rebranding strategy for an educational charity in Africa. I took part in the "Skills for the Future" project from the educational platform EdPlace. We worked together with mentors on key skills important for our future life. We chose a problem that bothered us (in our case, the problem of environmental pollution) and looked for a solution to it (our idea was to create a mobile application-social network in which caring people would gather together and clean up certain polluted places).
• Global Social Leaders (GSL) : During 2024-2025 me and 4 other Svitlo students were working on a GSL project . Our project was dedicated to the issue of the burnout and overworking. We wanted to highlight the awareness of such a pervasive issue to young people. We created multiple articles in our blog and posts in our social media and by the end of the academic year our team (The Burnout Escape) won "Heath & Wellbeing" category!

‍Future Plans: 

I am currently getting a bachelor's degree in Ukrainian university and my biggest goal for the next 3 years is to find and apply to the foreign university to do my master's degree!

Impact of Svitlo:

Svitlo School for me is like a sun during a rainy day. Thanks to Svitlo I tried so many new things which gave me the courage and motivation to move forward. Without this amazing school I wouldn't have achieved my aims and dreams!!🥹
