Started attending Svitlo School: November 2023

Responsibilities:

• Prefect for the lesson "Speakers Corner": My responsibilities include keeping a register and monitoring activity in the classroom.
• Teaching assistant “discussion forum”: where we talk about many topics regarding the USA.
• Teaching assistant for the lesson “Speakers Corner”: I am in charge of organizing presenters for a variety of topics. 
• Reading buddy: I read books to younger students and help increase their vocabulary.
• Content creator, editor for Svitlo tiktok: I create content to promote Svitlo school.
• Ambassador: Dissemination of information about the Svitlo School, bringing new students.
• Subtitles maker: responsible for creating subtitles for all social networks of the school.
• Global Goals Project: I participated and won in “Health and Wellbeing” category of GSL in a team representing Svitlo School in the summer of 2025.

Future Plans:

I’m really passionate about medicine and I dream of becoming a plastic surgeon one day.‍

At the moment I’m doing my best to spend my senior year of high school studying abroad, and I’m dedicated to get into medical school there. Regardless of my intentions to pursue myself in a different country, I still want to travel back home very often because I love my motherland and I would never forget about Ukraine. My aim now and in the future is and will be helping Ukraine and making an impact by teaching Ukrainians English language, which is my second passion in life.‍

Did I tell you about my last, but equally important passion of mine? I crave travel. It’s something eternally special to me and something that lights me up like nothing else. I try to travel at any possible moment and thanks to Svitlo School I have met other Svitlo students all over the world. I’m incredibly grateful to Svitlo for giving me the chance to immerse myself into English culture for the first time. I can’t imagine my future without traveling.‍

I don’t wait for things to happen, I work hard to make them happen and make sure I look good doing that.

What Svitlo School means to Christie:

Svitlo had an incredibly big impact on me. I adore the lessons, the chance to be taught by native speakers, who are also the best and most kind people ever. But I also love Svitlo with my heart for the people of it. Since becoming a Svitlo School student i’ve gained some of the best and most real friendships in my life with other Svitlo students
