Before the war Daria lived in Kyiv with her young family. She and her husband ran a family business, an engineering company, which helped people to organise heat and water in the house. Being forced to flee the war, and with her husband joining the army, Daria came to England in May 2022 with her daughter, aged 2.
Daria first became a volunteer and soon joined the team in the early days of Svitlo school. Organisational skills and experience in working with people came in handy. Daria is in charge of admissions and communications and played a big role in shaping the school into what it is now. As the person who has the answers to everything in the school, she enjoys being useful and helping the children of Ukraine to become the best version of themselves.
Daria is very passionate about winter sports, Asia and yoga, she likes to spend her free time with her little daughter, travel and learn new things.
