Svitlo would not exist without the generous support of our sponsors and partners. Here is what they make possible.

Strategic corporate partner

In 2025 we were delighted to begin a strategic partnership with Citi, which has donated more than $8.5m USD to initiatives across Ukraine since February 2022. The partnership has enabled us to build digital infrastructure, scale our educational programmes and deliver more international opportunities for young Ukrainians.
Our partnership continues for the 2026/27 academic year, and here are just some of the milestones we have achieved together.

“Citi Ukraine is privileged to support the educational initiative from Svitlo School to develop an accessible educational system for children. This grant is our investment in the future of Ukraine, which will be shaped by the next generations. We believe that education can open new doors for children and build success stories.”
Programme sponsor

The International Charitable Foundation, Nova Ukraine, funds our Language & Leadership Programme, launched at the start of the 2025/26 school year.
Older students are trained and mentored to lead small online English classes for younger students. The programme has 2 streams: Reading Buddies, and First Steps in English. Older students develop valuable leadership skills; younger ones gain confidence speaking English and meet new role models.
Our partnership continues for the 2026/27 academic year. Here are just some of the results from our first year of sponsorship.
“We really like Reading Buddy lessons! Classes are held in small groups, so each child gets a lot of attention. The most important thing is to find your Buddy, then the lesson turns into a friendly meeting. My child looks forward to each lesson!”

Summer school partnerships
Each summer our most dedicated students spend two weeks at partner summer schools in the UK, USA and Europe. The places are free, thanks to the generosity of our partners, and we help cover travel and visa costs. For many students it is their first time outside Ukraine.
Places at partner summer schools each year. 2026 includes schools in Switzerland.

Safety and respite from the war. Lessons without sirens and nights without blackouts.
Improved English skills. Many return to Ukraine a full level higher.
Global friendships. Often the first time students have met other children from around the world.
Increased confidence. Students return home with new-found confidence, eager to share their skills as mentors, buddies and role models for younger students.
“I learned that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to the most unforgettable experiences. The moments that felt scary or challenging at first ended up being the most rewarding.
“This opportunity means to me that I'm worthy of something more that I have right now. I can change my country for the better and I can be a great example for my peers.
“I finally went somewhere where drones are friendly and without explosions, only with a camera. I finally understood what peace feels like. The war started when I was 10 years old, I don’t remember times before it.
“Before, I was very afraid of making new connections and talking to people, but now I look forward to it.
In 2026, 13 summer schools in the UK and Europe welcomed our students on their programmes.
Offer summer school placesEducational partnerships
Our educational partners give students opportunities they could not reach on their own. World-leading online schools in the UK and USA offer fully funded scholarships, and project-based programmes let students lead real work with peers from other countries.
Fully funded places at British and American online schools, alongside Svitlo lessons.
The chance to earn GCSE and A-level certificates, or a US high school diploma.
Leadership projects with students abroad, creating real-world impact in their schools and communities.

“My biggest achievements are studying at Pearson Academy Online and my journey to UK summer school!”
Sasha
Svitlo student

Two of our students received fully funded places to study GCSE Biology and EPQ at Highgrove Education.

Pearson have provided 70 free English tests, free places at a UK online school, 15 places at Pearson Academy USA, and free places at an online summer school.

GSL is offering free membership to Svitlo School. As a result, a group of our students participated in GSL’s project-based learning programme last year, where they created the Svitlo Reads project. This year, four groups of students are joining the programme.
