Steve Joordens is a professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where he teaches an introductory psychology course as well as a course on the scientific study of conscious and unconscious influences. He also developed an introductory psychology course on the online platform Coursera, which became highly popular, attracting over 450,000 participants. Beyond teaching, Joordens is passionate about the development of innovative educational tools and conducts research in the fields of human memory and consciousness. His extensive contributions to psychology and education have been recognised through various teaching and technology innovation awards.
Steve earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of New Brunswick, followed by a PhD in psychology from the University of Waterloo. He completed his postdoctoral work at McMaster University, specialising in models and empirical studies of human memory.
